These freshly baked rolls are amazingly good! A must have for good soups and pies, or as a quick snack. Experiment with different additions of flavor or spices. The dough has to rise for several hours, but just set it to rise before you go to bed, and then make them when you get up or get home from work. No biggie!
Ingredients (9 rolls):
- 500 grams of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried yeast
- 1-2 tsp salt
- 400 ml cold water
- 4-5 sundried tomatoes in oil divided into small pieces
- 4-5 cloves of fresh garlic, crushed
This is how you do it:
Put flour, salt and yeast in a bowl. Add in tomatoes and garlic and mix well. Add the water and mix it to a smooth dough. Do not knead or anything, just stir by hand.
Cover the dough and let it rise on the kitchen counter for 12-18 hours.
Put a lot of flour on the kitchen counter and place the dough onto the flour. Bring the sides towards the middle, watch video here . Repeat until the dough feels light and fluffy and not very sticky. Divide the dough into 8-9 pieces and make rolls, carefully. The dough will feel extremely light and slightly fragile. It should be like that.
Place the pieces on a paper covered baking tray and cover them with a towel. Leave them to rise more about an hour or so, and then put them in a cold oven of 220 C (430 F) and bake for approx. 30 minutes.
